Who in the Hell do you think you are?

Jack ass

What kind of pretentious idiot thinks he can put himself on par with the great minds of the ages?

Sounds like a Jack ass to me.

Don't get me wrong people. I am not, by any means, saying that I am anywhere near the pedestals of Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, Sam Clemens, and all the other great minds of our civilization. The title of this blog is merely an homage to these men among men. The great thinkers that we as a society have deemed "renaissance men" have all excelled in multiple fields of study, and all have one thing in common: they revere the attainment of knowledge and understanding above all else.

They love to learn. They thirst for understanding. Discontent to merely observe, they probe further, like a three year old child who refuses to accept the authoritative "because I said so" from God, their government, or even the world.

Jungle Chicken
I relate to these qualities of enlightenment and curiosity. I have not achieved a scintilla of the notoriety of the renaissance men I admire, but I imagine that all of them had their fair share of mishaps and failures. That is where I relate all too well with the great men of our enlightened society. I have wiped enough egg from my own face to realize that there is much to be learned from failure.

For that reason, I share my own stories. These are my experiences as a man seeking knowledge, understanding, and maybe a little fun along the way.
